The United Nations Development Programme is hiring a Reports and Public Information Officer, for Maputo.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA’s mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions.
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Communication and Information Management Unit in the OCHA Mozambique, the Repots and Public Information Officer will be responsible for supporting the overal humanitarian action and information management in Mozambique.
In particular, s/he will be supporting the Communication and Information Unit for the 2022 Humanitarian Response Plan for Mozambique to strengthen its information management and information dissemination capacity, ensuring that humanitarian partners, local and international media, policy makers and governmental and non-governmental actors have timely and relevant information on the humanitarian situation and response in the various affected parts of the country.
