The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF, is hiring a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist for Maputo.
The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist reports to the Planning & Evaluation Specialist for general guidance and direction. The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist supports the Planning & Evaluation Specialist section, to work within the UN country team to support UNCT goals for delivering valid and reliable information on the attainment of the MDGs and other goals, and on the performance of UN-supported programmes. The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist assists in the establishment of a monitoring an evaluation tools which enhance partnership between the UNCT, government and other key players to collectively track progress on MDGs and other international commitment for children, the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist assists in the development of national capacities for monitoring, evaluation and research, with special attention to the interest, concern and participation of government, community, and civil society stakeholders. The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for capacity development and systems strengthening with INE, ENE as well as (potentially) wider sectors and academia. Position will have a key focus on skills in Data/statistical analysis and wider Sectoral support in Monitoring and Evaluation. The post will also provide substantive support in house in monitoring and evaluation as well as in the wider UN system through DRG groups.
