Management Accountant Full-Time

MyBucks Mozambique MCB, S.A, intends to recruit, for its Head Office in Maputo, a (1) professional with a high level of integrity and responsibility for the position of Management Accountant.

Function Description

• Assist in the functioning of the Financial Department in accordance with the policies and procedures established at the Bank, ensuring that the business is operating effectively and efficiently, manage operational costs, accounting & treasury functions, and develop internal controls contributing to the achievement of the business objectives of MyBucks Banking Corporation Mozambique (MBC).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review management accounts in timely manner and making respective commentaries to all relevant stakeholders;
• Interpret financial reports, measure performance, and execute key ratio analyses;
• Preparation of statutory or official financial statements in line with internationally accepted accounting practices (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements;
• Petty cash approvals;
• Verification of all payments & their processes and making recommendations for approvals;
• Ensure that all risk issues are managed strategically and identified in advance, and that incidents are reported timeously with all relevant stakeholders;
• Calculations & Payment of all business and operations related Government taxes;
• Ensure that mandatory Central Bank & Ministry of Finance regulations and compliance activities are adhered to effectively, and without fail;
• Designing control measures and checking mechanisms in accounting & financial processing activities to mitigate risks of errors, omissions and fraud;
• Continuously adhere to all existing policies & procedures and sharing these across the department to promote standardization & best practice;
• Supporting and coordinating with other departments to facilitate smooth flowing of business activities;
• Balancing and managing the daily cash flow and liquidity of funds within the bank;
• Handling the bank’s investments in securities, foreign exchange, asset/liability management and cash instruments, etc;
• Direct, monitor and support finance department team in delivering agreed performance goals;
• Facilitate development of junior staff;
• Deliver on ad hoc requests from management and business partners in a timeous manner;
• Carry on any other duties given from time to time by the CFO.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Finance/ Accounting, Chartered Accountancy qualification will be an added advantage;
• 3-4 Years middle to management banking experience & management accounting experience;
• 2-4 Year Experience with SAGE Accounting Package;
• Written and oral communication skills;
• Computer literacy;
• Multi-task, time management;
• Resilience and stress management;
• Team spirit.
