The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is hiring a Information Management Associate.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for asylum seekers, refugees, internally displaced, returnees and stateless people. The operation in Mozambique has its main office in Maputo, field office (FO) in Nampula, and sub-office in Pemba. The candidate will be based in Nampula FO which covers implementation of activities in Niassa and Zambezia requiring frequent field missions to the locations. The working language in the UNHCR offices in Mozambique is English. The incumbent will support the operation with Information Management supporting several units in gathering relevant information to be used by the office for varied response needs assessment and potentially published internally or externally. The IM associate will collate data, process, and analysis it for the development and dissemination of IM products, for Nampula FO and the operation as required. The IM associate will assist in the establishment of an IM system that supports the office and furthermore, liaise and support partners when needed to enhance performance and reporting from other stakeholders and partners. The candidate will have certain level of direct contact with UNHCR’s people of concern, sometimes living in extremely vulnerable conditions, which requires openness, patience, and utmost respect from the candidate. Basic facilities are available in the settlements and operation sites; however, the candidate is also expected to handle outdoor working activities in the field. The candidate should have related education, or another related areas/field as mentioned below. Experience with handling complex data; excellent computer skills (in MS Office), advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. Pivot tables), functions and basic skills in development of infographic materials through Adobe Illustrator; basic/advanced skills in the use of ArcGIS and/or other mapping software; basic/advanced skills in the use of data collection platforms such as Kobo; demonstrated reporting and writing skills in English; experience with handling multi-sectorial information/data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies is an added advantage. The candidate will work in close collaboration with the protection/registration and field teams in the office, as well as will be able to receive guidance and requests from the IMO based in the CO and the RBSA DIMA team, whenever needed. This position reports to the Head of the Office.
