Global Edge is hiring a HR Director based in Maputo.
Duties and responsibilities
General HR
Lead, coordinate and assist with drafting, developing, and implementing HR policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with local laws and legislations, and recommended best practices;
Manages talent acquisition process: recruitment, interviewing and hiring. Collaborates with team members to understand skills and competencies required for vacancies;
Arrange training as required and maintain record of certifications and credentials;
Responsible for implementing structured plans for employee development;
Monitor and report on key HR metrics, such as turnover and retention rates;
Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, procedures, and benefits;
Evaluate, design, implement and manage compensation and benefits packages;
Assist and represent management with employee relation issues (hearings, investigations, corrective action, performance appraisals, etc.);
Liaise with external legal counsel regarding employment-related issues;
Lead the analysis of employee feedback and data, with the aim of creating a better working environment and engaged culture;
Develop and implement MZ HR Initiatives in-line with organizational objectives;
Assist management with review of client and contractor agreements;
Responsibility for overall Safety and Health Standards.
Contractors Care
Assist with the onboarding of new staff and contract employees;
Assist management with contractor relation issues;
Frequent business trips to Afungi and Pemba;
Travelling up to 50% of the time, during first year only.
Visa & Immigration
Oversees mobilization process for all employees. This includes managing all mobilization requirements including but not limited to, flights, travel insurance, temporary, accommodations, etc;
Maintain immigration files for all staff and contract employees with visas;
Make travel arrangements for contractors and office staff.
Other
Develop and/or administer special projects;
This is not an exhaustive list of duties and is subject to review on a regular basis;
Other duties as assigned.
Profile
Ability to demonstrate the following competencies to the described level, including but not limited to:
Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Five years of HR experience (minimum);
Strong knowledge of basic HR principles and employment laws in Mozambique;
Strong verbal and written communication skills (Portuguese and English);
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with others;
Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials (e.g. computer hardware, software, ATS and electronic engagement program);
Previous Staffing industry experience is a bonus;
Ability to handle multiple urgent requests and achieve a high level of productivity with accuracy;
Proficient in Microsoft Office;
Analytical and problem-solving skills a must;
Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and sensitivity to individuals with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
