Petrofac is hiring a English Instructor, based in Maputo.
Tasks to be performed
For the SERVICE performance, CONTRACTOR shall conduct the following activities including but not limited to:
Prepare daily lesson plans and deliver lessons to a range of classes. Use a variety of resources in order to develop schemes of work and lesson plans that foster a healthy learning culture in the classroom and generate the most effective interactions with students;
Select and use effective instructional methods and learning materials;
Take part in producing and implementing a variety of tests and assessment tools;
Mark students’ work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of students’ progress and development. Upload records of students’ grades to the LMS (Learning Management System);
Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with all students, fellow instructors, and administrative personnel. Work closely with Counselors;
Propose innovative learning tools for English • Support students on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties. Manage students’ behaviour in the classroom and on NTP premises and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour;
Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process;
Perform occasional weekend duties to assist in the administration of tests (e.g. Cambridge Language Tests, Institutional Entry Test, etc.);
Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offering plans for improvement.

SERVICES to be performed in COMPANY’s premises in Maputo, Mozambique.
Tentative SERVICES start date: May 2021
SERVICES schedule: resident full time
SERVICES duration: 1-year renewable
Few visits to site and local travels may be required for the SERVICE execution.
Technical requirements
Native English speaker;
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in English language or equivalent. Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or relevant subject area preferred;
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills: 5 years of experience in teaching English as a second language;
Excellent computer knowledge;
Excellent communication skills in English. Portuguese language skill is an advantage.
