Catholic Relief Services is hiring a Emergency Coordinator.
Catholic Relief Services is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. CRS works to save, protect, and transform lives in need in more than 100 countries, without regard to race, religion or nationality. CRS’ relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance and peacebuilding.
CRS reestablished programming in Mozambique in 2017 and has been implementing both development and emergency programs, strengthening livelihoods, and supporting disaster and conflict-affected communities from response through recovery. A significant part of the CRS Mozambique portfolio is to respond to the insurgency in Cabo Delgado province, in northern Mozambique. With funding from USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Latter Day Saints Charities, the country program is partnering with Caritas Pemba to support conflict-affected families and IDPs in Cabo Delgado through the provision of emergency and transitional shelters, shelter repair kits, emergency latrine structures, borehole construction/rehabilitation, and WASH NFI kit distributions, emergency food rations and agriculture inputs.
You will manage and provide technical oversight of the development and implementation of the Country Program’s (CP) emergency response and recovery programming, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place that support high-quality programming that advances Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work in serving the poor and vulnerable. Your knowledge and skills in emergency programming and your management abilities will ensure the delivery of high-quality emergency programming that applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.
