EA-APE is hiring Database Administrators based in Mozambique.
Responsabilities
Oracle Database Single Node and Real Application Cluster Nodes/Dataguard Technologies for Datacentre and Disaster Recovery sites;
Oracle WebLogic;
Oracle Linux Operating System;
Database Operations / Enhancements;
Monitoring services of Datacentre, Disaster Recovery, Company Office and serviceable Remote sites;
Database Administrators may be required to work in regular times or shifts and share 24 h piquet service in remote or on-site. Are subject to on-call duty.
Database support and enhancements;
Creating, solving and closing trouble tickets from Database related issues;
Liaison with Database providers and clients on Database queries;
Work hand in hand with Systems / Network teams to ensure smooth operations for both the datacentre and company offices;
Maintenance of It infrastructure in Database perspective;
QA/QC on Database installations;
Ensure company’s Database server deployment is in line with company policies;
Enforce IT Systems Security requirements;
Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration documents and release notes;
Deploy Oracle database patches to multiple environments in single and cluster configurations;
Assist in establishing and implementing configuration management program and policies;
Troubleshoot and debug Database problems found in the production and non-production environments.
Assist in the management and support of product integration services with multiple business partners, including real-time web services and batch processing.
Automate Database monitoring tasks using standard monitoring tools.
Database backup management, scheduling and reporting for both internal corporate systems and data center (NOC) systems;
Manage and control the continuous release promotion cycle (manually short-term, through automation long-term) including the following environments: migration, engineering, quality assurance, training, sales, user acceptance testing, staging and production limited to availability of technical resources;
Work with other team members in Operations, Quality, and Product Management to plan the deployment of software releases and continuously improve the web infrastructure configuration processes.
Work with Operations management to analyse, plan and develop the run-book automation related to the software deployment processes and supporting infrastructure;
Develop deployment scripts on a lifecycle automation platform for the orchestration, integration and automation of build promotions and software releases;
Keep attend to any other assignment as may be given to him time to time;
Comply to financial and administrative reporting obligations;
At all times, comply with safety rules and regulations, including usage of appropriate PPE
At all times, comply with company Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct;
At all times, comply with company policies, procedures and Operational Integrity guidelines.
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or University level in relevant field such as Engineering, Mathematics, IT or related fields;
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL.
Able to work well under tight deadlines, deal with heavy workloads and with a high degree of individual responsibility, all of which are implicit in the position;
Can cope well with stress and is available all time.
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining (patching, optimization and troubleshooting) related technologies.
