Consultant Full-Time

KOICA is planning to develop a project in the water resources sector and will conduct an implementation survey. In this regard, KOICA is recruiting a consultant to support the preparation of the study and other activities to ensure smooth implementation of the survey.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a government agency of the Republic of Korea responsible for implementing grant aid and technical cooperation, in order to support the socio-economic development of its partner countries. KOICA currently has 44 country offices worldwide, including an office in Mozambique established in March 2011.

Description

KOICA Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of local consultant on Flood Forecasting and Early Warning System (FFEWS). The consultant is expected to support the survey related to the project “Development of Flood Forecasting and Warning System in Licungo River basin, Mozambique”.

Duties

• Field survey in Nampula province and Zambezia province;
  (The tentative schedule is from September 26 to October 14);
• (Before field survey) Data collection and analysis related to water resource management in Mozambique, preparation for field survey with the relevant department, video conference with Korean experts, etc;
• (During field survey) accompanying the interview and interpreting (from Portuguese to English), collecting and translating necessary data, etc;
• (After field survey) additional data collection and translation, (if necessary) additional interviews and report, etc.

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources Management or related field and minimum of 5 years of work experience;
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese (Proficiency in Korea is preferred);
• Good computer skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office package).

Required Documents

• A cover letter with outline of qualifications and experience;
• A current resume or a curriculum vitae;
• A copy of certificate of degree/diploma;
• A copy of contract or a recommendation letter from (a) previous workplace(s).

Notes

• Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted;
• The consultant should participate in the field survey;
• Full time work at KOICA Mozambique office is not necessary before and after the survey.
