Construction Officer Full-Time

Good Neighbors International is hirina a Construction Officer based in Mapai.

Job Description

• Provide overall construction site management;
• Supervise contractors during implementation to ensure quality workmanship, safety and value for money;
• Prepare tender documents (Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of quantities and Terms of Reference);
• Facilitate geological surveys, Environmental Impact Assessment or others studies;
• Facilitate field visit for all respective line ministries to inspect progress of works and validate all the inspection reports;
• Facilitate communities to identify viable ways for operation and maintenance of water and sanitation facilities.

Required Qualification

• Mozambican nationals only;
• Technical education in civil or hydraulic engineering in construction, architecture or related area;
• Minimum of five years proven experience for Wash activities;
• Knowledge and application of auto/arch CAD and GIS will be an advantage;
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Shangana is a strong asset;
• Good written and oral communication skills;
• Proven ability to build capacity of partners/ stakeholders through formal trainings and informal job shadowing and mentoring;
• Ability to monitor work of project-hired contractors;
• Ability to spend 100% of job in the field.
