The Construction manager role is responsible for the following;
Permanent supervision of work on site and coordination of team work;
Control of contractor’s survey work, follow up and measurement of works on site;
Review and approval of payment certificates, testing of works and reporting site activities;
Review and certification of variation orders (VO) prepared by the contractor prior to submission, where applicable;
Maintenance of quality control records as well as photographic records of the sites and work progress from commissioning to handover;
Review and checking of Contractor’s plans and documents, including laboratory test results, where applicable;
Inspection of completed works, receipt, filing and handing of project documentation (as built drawings, manuals, service instructions etc.) and participation in the preliminary acceptance of works;
Quality control and review of “as built” drawings to be prepared by the contractor;
Contract administration, record keeping and documentation, as well as claims management;
Evaluation of work and drawing up a new map of quantities (works not carried out in order to launch new contracts)
Minimum Qualification:
Degree in Civil engineering;
Knowledge and Skills required:
At least ten years of project management experience;
Experience in construction supervision and management support of large scale (housing) infrastructure projects;
Proven experience, in the last 7 years, in supervision housing projects in Mozambique;
Excellent knowledge of relevant computer programs;
Negotiation skills;
Fluent in Portuguese and English, knowledge of Shangaan is an advantage.
