Vodacom is hiring Chapter Lead: Backend development.
Role purpose:
A Technical servant leader responsible for the development and growth of Backend developers. Responsible for developers allocation & metrics associated with soft/hard skills, and for all other administrative responsibilities within the Chapter
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Manage Chapter Members Well-being, Motivation & Career;
- Own Chapter Technical Guidelines;
- Contribute to large solution analysis & planning;
- Lead Programs/Initiatives that are Chapter Scoped;
- Communicate development practices & architecture vision to Chapter members;
- Participate in a Squad as an active Backend developer
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Solid Understanding of SDLC;
- Ability to write comprehensive documentation;
- At least 4 Years of proven Experience in a software development practitioner role;
- Solid backend development experience.
Must have skills / professional qualification:
- Honors degree in any IT Related field;
- Networking, Web & CI/CD Foundation;
- Java, SQL, NoSQL, MQ;
- Git, Docker, OAS3;
- Project & Action Planning.
Key performance indicators:
- Total one-on-one engagements with chapter members;
- % of chapter members with career plans;
- Total Knowledge Sharing sessions per Chapter Role
