Barbaricum is seeking a Tactical Advisor to provide embedded advisory support services for a State Department customer. This work supports the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) as it develops a specialized law-enforcement response force to terrorist activity. The advisor will enhance the GRM’s capacity to develop, train, support, and deploy new tactical law enforcement teams through training and mentorship.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required;
Active DoD Secret Clearance required;
Experience as a sworn member of state, federal or local law enforcement within the last 20 years;
U.S. CENTRAL COMMAND or U.S. AFRICA COMMAND or U.S. SOUTHERN COMMAND – ground combat experience with a combat arms unit within the past 20 years;
Multiple tours at various operational levels that include a mix of direct combat, operational planning, training development, and Ops-Intel fusion;
Direct counterinsurgency operational experience in positions from team member through SF BN/Group (SF) or Company through Division/MEF level (Conventional);
Minimum of five years of service in a U.S. military Special Operations unit;
Demonstrable advanced proficiency with individual weapons, expeditionary communications, trauma and wilderness medical care, and personnel recovery;
Former military rank of E-7, or higher, or CW2 or higher, or documented civilian equivalent;
Score of 2/2 on the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) in Portuguese or a Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) score of 50 or higher in Portuguese is strongly preferred;
Fully deployable (physically and medically) to austere environments;
Ability to carry an operational equipment load of 55 pounds.
