Financial Director Full-Time

We are now looking for a FINANCIAL DIRECTOR working in Maputo:

The role of financial director will be combined with the role of Controller: Water.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Controller (Africa, India) and Managing Director in Mozambique and will work in a very positive and professional environment. We offer on-the-job-training by international experts and good labour conditions. As part of an International Group, there is interaction with colleagues internationally, primarily South Africa and Netherlands.

Main Responsibilities

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR:

• To act as a Business Partner and cultivate effective relationships across the Country and with all Business Lines represented.
• To provide expert financial input into the strategic decision-making process for the Country.
• To effectively lead, manage and develop the local finance team members.
• Ensure delivery of robust and efficient financial entity administration; compliance with statutory obligations (including financial and taxation requirements).
• Fulfilling the role of Chief Accountant according to our Charter and local Mozambique accounting regulations.
• To fulfil all financial and management reporting & analysis requirements for local management, Business Line management and Group purposes in a timely manner.
• To ensure all Group initiatives around financial control and reporting are effectively deployed within the Country.
• To evaluate and communicate potential impact on Country performance from initiatives and decisions considered by the Country management.
• To contribute to a thorough risk assessment of relevant projects at proposal stage and throughout project execution.

CONTROLLER :WATER

To act as a sparring partner for the business line Water active through its business in Mozambique.
To contribute to and influence the financial performance of the business.
To ensure delivery of robust and efficient financial administration of the business’ projects and results.

KEY DELIVERABLES:

The provision of high quality, robust information and analysis for decision making.
Identify and deliver profitability improvement opportunities.
Delivery of reporting and analysis requirements to a high standard and within the agreed timescales.
To create effective relationships with business peers, group and business advisors.
Train and develop team members, driving a sales and profit improvement culture.

OTHER DUTIES:

Carry out any duties which the line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of the role.

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience

Chartered Accountant (CA) having relevant experience and relevant international working experience within international companies of 10 years+ (of which 5 years+ in a similar role as described here) with a sound understanding of above mentioned responsibilities;
Fluent in Portuguese and English languages.
Strong business partner with the ability to deliver continuous improvement to the strategic direction of the company.
Structured organization and project management skills.
Ability to adopt a broad perspective and approach issues from Country, Business and a Group standpoint.
