Environmental Lead Full-Time

We are currently searching for an Environmental Lead to be based in Maputo, Mozambique and work in a 1 year contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Description

• Oversee preparation and implementation of EIA, ESHIA, and EMPs.
• Develop and implement Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Management Plans.
• Support Environmental Manager on regulatory and compliance activities.
• Ensure timely acquisition of environmental permits and approvals.
• Integrate environmental standards into design and execution with EPC/EPCI teams.
• Review and approve contractor environmental plans (EMP, Waste, Spill Response, etc.).
• Monitor environmental performance and coordinate implementation with site teams.
• Ensure compliance with host-country laws, project obligations, and IFC standards.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and interface with partners on environmental matters.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of environmental experience, ideally in oil & gas or construction.
• Experience with IFC standards and environmental permitting.
• Knowledge of Mozambican regulations preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Portuguese and/or French a plus.
