Emergency Manager Full-Time

About this role

You’ll drive best practice in the CEM process through your impact and influence. You’ll be a leader – motivating and directing a team of disciplined staff as well as setting standards for other functional and operations staff.

You’ll be a negotiator – influencing internal and external stakeholders to improve Process Safety, minimize Major Accident Hazard events (i.e. Marine, Upstream and Onshore production operations) and reduce Asset Integrity risks. Your experience in working with external regulators and other agencies will influence stakeholders and deliver a coordinated effort.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Providing technical and specialist/subject matter input around response and incident management processes, providing subject matter expertise in Emergency Management preparedness, response and Oil Spill plans and procedures;
• Developing the in-country ER service to effectively respond to and manage level 1 incidents and associated project scenarios;
• Detailing the competency of EM (ER and/or Oil Spill) responders, identifying training needs, and monitoring competency of ER Teams, through a schedule of appropriate ER tests.

This role is not for just anyone.

As a manager and leader you have developed and delivered CEM and Spill Response training to diverse workgroups, creating a safety-focused culture at all levels within the HSE function. You’ll have experience managing, mentoring and developing multi-disciplinary teams. You can address groups and inspire a safety commitment on-site and off.

And you’ll have an understanding of business management, with good technical skills and the ability to integrate the technical, commercial and governance aspects of the work in-country.

About you

You’ll be a leader in the field with your proven safety leadership within high hazard industries (such as petrochemical, oil and gas, mining or aviation industries) and formal training such AIIMS (level 3), Emergency Management Training at ICS 300 or IMO level 3.

You have experience of emergency management and spill response management in complex scenarios, and you’re ready to take your skills to the next level.

You have current working knowledge of risk management techniques (identifying, assessing and mitigating emergency response risks).

Any experience in delivering projects in high-risk or high materiality environments and in remote areas is an advantage. You will build on that experience here.
