Electrical Engineer Full-Time

Job Description

Summary

Our client is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Afungi, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
The Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for providing electrical engineering support for the construction, commissioning and handover of a Resettlement Village.

Qualifications/ Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering;
2. Minimum of (8) years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in large scale projects;
3. Experience in Microsoft Office programs and other relevant business information system;
4. Able to lead a small team with a strategic view to results;
5. Fluent in Portuguese and English (Oral and written).

Responsibilities

1. Supervision of all electrical construction activities for the Project with particular emphasis to safety, regulatory and environmental compliance, internal procedures, national and international standards, in order to ensure technical integrity;
2. Review technical drawings, and contractor request for modifications/improvements, and provide subject matter expertise/evaluation to the Management in the form of responses to Technical Queries;
3. Liaise with other team members with reporting performance metrics and progress measurement and project scheduling;
4. Review the appropriate documentation including Project Quality Management Plan, contract deliverables, punch lists, check sheets and mechanical completion packages;
5. Prepare weekly progress and performance reports to Management;
6. Provide technical and engineering support and guidance to other project functions and disciplines such as HSE, Operations, Project Support, ASI, Camp Expansion, Airstrip, as needed;
7. Provide training, coaching and mentoring to assigned trainees, subordinates, or future team members as needed.

Work Schedule: 28 continuous days on duty (12 working hours p/day)/ 28 continuous days off duty (Rest & Recovery).
