Requirements:
Post-graduation degree in Education with specialization in Mathematics, Portuguese or first grades education or,
Degree in education with minimum experience of five years’ as a teacher and/or teacher trainer or;
Degree in Education with significant experience in working on numeracy and/or literacy in development programmers.
Essential
Skills and knowledge of teaching and student assessments;
Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic reports that document program direction and results;
Training and facilitation experience required;
Advanced writing skills in Portuguese;
Skills in community mobilization, especially involvement of parents in supporting learning by their children;
Creativity and ability to work independently and remain productive under minimal supervision;
Experience working with Nongovernmental organizations and government officials essential;
Ability to interact skillfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts;
English skills required.
Desirable
Experience in advancing girls’ education;
Proficiency in one of the local languages (Shona, chitewe and Nhungue);
Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies.
