Education Programme Manager Featured

Qualifications and Experience:

• Post-graduation degree in Education with specialization in Mathematics, Portuguese or first grades education or;
• Degree in education with minimum experience of five years’ as a teacher and/or teacher trainer or;
• Degree in Education with significant experience in working on numeracy and/or literacy in development programmes.

Essential

• Skills and knowledge of teaching and student assessments;
• Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic reports that document program direction and results;
• Training and facilitation experience required;
• Advanced writing skills in Portuguese;
• Skills in community mobilization, especially involvement of parents in supporting learning by their children;
• Creativity and ability to work independently and remain productive under minimal supervision;
• Experience working with Nongovernmental organizations and government officials essential;
• Ability to interact skilfully and diplomatically with numerous counterparts;
• English skills required.

Desirable

• Experience in advancing girls’ education;
• Proficiency in one of the local languages (Shona, chitewe and Nhungue);
• Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams in the event of major emergencies;
