Country Manager Full-Time

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF) is the Group’s air, ocean and road freight specialist.

We offer standardized transport as well as highly specialized end-to-end solutions to customers in a wide range of industries globally.

Currently we are looking for Country Manager who will lead, develop and control the business and operations at the country-level to achieve short and long-term financial and operating objectives (profitability, revenue, productivity, market share) in line with division and DPDHL strategy inMozambique.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defines the divisional business strategy in the country taking vertical and/or horizontal guidelines and objectives into account;
• Ensures effective management of business and operations at the country level;
• Supervises sales, marketing and operations, and may have responsibility for accounting, purchasing, personnel, and / or financial functions in the country;
• Ensures effective managementand takes responsibility for the country-level P&L (EBITA etc.), cost and revenue management and controls / supervises;
• Drives the exploration and exploitation of growth opportunities;
• Decides difficult cases and makes sure that decisions are carried out properly, for example concerning product and market strategy, business development, investments, etc;
• Analyzes complex multi-dimensional issues extensively and improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques;
• Implements modification within own authority which directly influences the way the division is operating, making money and managing people in the country;
• Reaches agreement with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating;
• Negotiates critical agreements / contracts and has the mandate / authority to sign them, changing T&Cs significantly;
• Approves all major projects including integration projects at the country level;
• Recruits and develops the members of the country leadership team; keeps them motivated and coordinates their efforts;
• Approves key personnel decisions for the country;
• Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the company and division;
• Leads and manages team; determines team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with functional leaders;
• Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct staff.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 12 years of experience in different senior management functions in a logistics company;
• Manages and leads teams through broad management experience across several functional areas or businesses;
• Fluent in English and Portuguese;
• Good communication and presentation skills.
