Under AHF funds, m2m has engaged to improve communication skills from Mentor Mothers to provide efficient psychosocial support to HIV+ PBFW in their peer education sessions at defined Health Facilities implementing Direct Service delivery;
m2m needs to adapt existing materials with focus on disclosure of HIV status as the main barrier to increase uptake of PMTCT services and retention along the PMTCT cascade;
The consultant will work with m2m in order to review and update MOH, m2m and related psychosocial training materials focused on disclosure of HIV status;
The consultant will created materials that are easy to follow and help Mentor Mothers better support clients during their one-on-one interactions. As part of their assignment, the consultant will co-facilitate a training of trainers in order to ensure that the materials are disseminated to MMs at the Provincial level.
Job Requirements
Competencies:
Review and update MOH, m2m and related psychosocial training materials focused on HIV disclosure to be used by Mentor Mothers;
Ensure that curriculum possess technical soundness and is context specific and adheres to national guidelines (PMTCT, Psychosocial Support and ARVs);
Edit for correct terminology and language accuracy;
Ensure that materials are easy to use as a job aide by Mentor Mothers;
Provide technical assistance for training;
Develop training material and job Aides;
Co-facilitate training of trainers on how to teach Mentor Mothers to use materials.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Psychosocial;
Experience in developing curriculum and training materials focused on HIV disclosure to be used by Mentor Mothers or other programs.
