My client is a top Logistics Supply Chain Partner Company to the Shipping and Transport Sector, specialising in high value Cargo in Mozambique and they are in need of a Commercial Manager to join their team rather urgently. The ideal candidate should be able to start ASAP in the role.

You will need to be able to speak PORTUGUESE for this role, fluently.

The company does not provide a Housing allowance or subsidy or a company car etc. so the role is ideally a Non-Ex-Pat role (Mozambican National) or a SA citizen if you are willing to pay for your own relocation etc.

Salary on offer: 250 000 METS (Mozambican Metical) Per Month or R56 000 per month

Reporting to the Managing Director, your job entails the following:

Mission / purpose of the job:

Plan, organize and manage the commercial activities to achieve and exceed agreed budgets. Develop and implement commercial strategies. Identify new commercial opportunities and manage new commercial projects.

Qualifications and Experience Required: Non-Negotiable

• Matric;
• Degree in Business Management and Related Faculties to the role of Commercial Management / Finance;
• Minimum 7-8 Years in a similar role and function with at least 3 years of Managerial Experience in the same role.

Tasks function -typical

• Develop long and short-term commercial strategic plan for the Company to ensure the achievement of its core objectives, maximizing its economic potential;
• Manage and monitor all commercial activities of the Company to ensure that the plan and agreed commercial goals are met within the established deadlines;
• Compile Commercial budgets and manage the Commercial implementation to ensure the objectives and revenues are exceeded;
• Develop commercial strategies and maintain a customer base for developing and maintaining our current customers and ensure that the Company has the capacity and expertise to meet its commitments to all its customers;
• Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts and monitor their implementation, review and propose contracts of services with third parties, ensuring the highest standard of efficiency of services provided by the Company;
• Recommend credit agreements, and monitor its limits;
• Representing the Company at government partners, professional associations and others;
• Organize, coordinate, control and manage all the Company’s commercial activities ensuring the regularity and efficiency of its operation by the contractual responsibilities established;
• Analyse the commercial results of new contracts, making comparisons between planned targets and the results achieved, to correct distortions, assess performance and plan the commercial activities;
• Monitor and manage the commercial performance of each of the functional units in conjunction with the departmental managers, aiming at the highest possible commercial  results;
• Monitor all Tender notification and identify those that may be of interest to the company. Submit the Companies Credentials / Tender Proposals with all supporting documentation. Track tender process through to award announcement.
