Job Summary
The Commercial Advisor will be based in Maputo office, and have experience negotiating, managing and implementing commercial deals in Oil and Gas or Mining Sector, including development & execution of procurement strategies and managing contracts from tender stage, through award, administration to commercial close out. Will also have good impact, good communications skills, and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
- Mozambique national, natural born citizen;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English;
- 5 or more years business experience, Senior position 10 or more years business experience;
- Business experience primarily in Mozambique;
- Preferred business experience includes.
Responsibilities :
- Regular interaction with governmental agencies;
- Commercial/negotiating experience;
- Mining or forestry or energy (power, oil & gas, pipeline) – commercial/business related or operations management;
- Business leadership/management or entrepreneurial business experience;
- Establish/develop/maintain regular face to face contact with Ministerial Staff at relevant government agencies such as: Energy,Finance, Labor, Employment, Immigration, Customs, Duties;
- Others as necessary or directed;
- Establish/develop/maintain regular face to face contact with other Concession holder’s relevant staff in Mozambique;
- In conjunction with other staff in Mozambique, establish/develop/maintain regular face to face contact with International Agencies or Embassies such as:The World Bank/US Embassy – Commercial Section/AID/African Development Bank;
- Others as necessary or directed;
- Work closely with, and take directions from, Senior Commercial Advisors in Houston;
- Negotiate commercial agreements.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized institution in Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Business or Law, Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred;
- Computer literate – Microsoft office.
Certifications/Licenses:
- University valid certificates.
Travel Requirements:
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 10%.
Work Schedule
- This position is on a 40 hour / week schedule Monday – Friday
