Job Summary
Works with inter-disciplinary team, providing both project and technical support in the field of civil engineering throughout the project. The role requires the ability to review contracts, technical specifications, drawings, calculations and other such related project data in order to ascertain the primary contractor level of conformity.
Performs assurance reviews throughout the project to gauge Contractor performance and verify construction techniques have delivered final product as per design. Researches, reviews and prepares project documentation to assist the client project team deploy a Compliance, Oversight and Guidance approach.
Participates and contributes to design, construction, and technical support of projects, monitors Contractor performance and recommends improvements. Liaising with other members of the team and ensuring the co-ordination of design control, methods of execution and reporting are of the required standard.
Role will require diversity in order to provide support and discipline technical knowledge throughout the project and as directed by the Project Manager.
Profile
- A passion for safety first and foremost in all undertakings;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering;
- Mozambican citizen;
- Fluency in Portuguese and English;
- Willingness to learn;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimal direction in a multi-disciplinary team environment;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Well-developed organizational, problem solving, decision-making, and critical analysis skills;
- Knowledge of engineering software preferred (e.g. well test analysis, material balance, production logging nodal analysis, process simulation, hydraulic simulation and compression modeling software);
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally required.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to reside in Afungi;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including a willingness and ability to engage and consult with rural communities in rural areas.
Language
Oral and written proficiency of Portuguese and English languages are required;
Travel Requirements
- Regional and International travel as required;
- Willingness to travel by road to remote areas;
- Willingness to reside in Afungi, specifically Palma District.
