Chief Operations Manager (COO) Full-Time

We are Hiring a Chief Operations Manager (COO).

Role

The Chief Operations Manager (‘COO’) will be based in Palma and Pemba working for ACRE, its subsidiaries and other ACRE related companies in Mozambique. The COO will report to the CEO and CFO and will form part of the senior management team.

Main Responsibilities

• Project Management of Civil Works.
• Maintenance.
• Procurement.
• Logistics.
• HSE and ISO implementation.

Skills and Qualifications

Suitable applicants will be expected to meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction project management or a construction-related field such as civil engineering, surveying or architecture.
• Likely to have at least 10-15 years’ experience in Africa as Construction Project Manager, leading and overseeing construction projects, and working with Engineers and Architects to develop a plan, create a project time frame, distribute resources, and ensure timely completion.
• Ability to lead Mozambican teams by being a good and effective communicator including appropriate language and management skills.
• Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together.
• Highly self motivated individual who can lead a team and drive performance.
• Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring effective job allocation.
• Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed.
• Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them.
• Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources.
• Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production.
• Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills.
