Lubombo Spatial Development Initiative 2 (LSDI2) is involved in malaria control in the MOSASWA (Mozambique, South Africa and Eswatini – formerly known as Swaziland) region. The organisation is currently operating an indoor residual spraying (IRS) programme within Mozambique, specifically targeting the provinces of Maputo, Inhambane and Gaza. The activities within South Africa and Eswatini are focused around surveillance, IEC/BCC and entomology. As the programme expands, and the reach extends towards malaria elimination within this region in the future, the need for behaviour change communications (BCC) and understanding becomes more imperative.
LSDI2 is partnering with Evoke KYNE, a health communications agency, to design and implement a BCC strategy to support efforts to achieve malaria elimination in MOSASWA. We are looking for a qualified professional to fill the following vacancy:
The BCC Progamme Coordinator will serve as the key liaison person between LSDI2 and Evoke KYNE to ensure excellent coordination and implementation of BCC activities in priority provinces: Maputo, Inhambane and Gaza. The candidate will also support IEC/BCC activities within South Africa and Eswatini programmes. The candidate will support the Evoke KYNE team with initial BCC strategy development work, including primary data collection for formative research, and will then provide day-to-day support for its implementation.
The candidate will build excellent rapport and coordinate communications with other malaria actors, including key stakeholders within the Mozambique National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), to ensure well-coordinated BCC programming at national level, in accordance with agreed milestones.
This is a dynamic and high-pressure role, and the post holder will be expected to be both proactive and reactive, collaborative and flexible, according to changing needs of the project. As a member of LSDI2 staff, the candidate will be subject to the administrative norms, including the code of conduct of LSDI2 in Mozambique.
Interested applicants should submit their CV, application letter and three references to both:
