MSH Mozambique seeks to recruit a highly-motivated and result-oriented individual as an Administrative Coordinator on temporary contract for a duration of six (6) months under the USAID MTaPS program.
USAID MTaPS is currently supporting the Mozambican Ministry of Health (MOH) to strengthen pharmaceutical regulation, improve pharmaceutical services and improve patient outcomes. In addition, MTaPS has been designated by USAID to provide support to several USAID focus countries in the area of Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) and particularly in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) containment. A key objective area of AMR is to strengthen country capacities in infection prevention and control (IPC). In the advent of the January 30, 2020 WHO declaration of the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and issuing temporary recommendations under IHR, USAID has requested MTaPS to provide technical assistance to the government of Mozambique in the area of COVID-19 emergency preparedness and response. MTaPS has been tasked to support health facilities likely to receive COVID-19 infected patients to strengthen IPC capabilities and biosafety of professional staff. This will also include strengthening IPC and waste management practices at the facilities.
Under the supervision the Finance and Operations Specialist, the Administrative Coordinator provide administrative, logistics and operations coordination support to the USAID MTaPS project team.
In addition, s/he will work closely with the MTaPS Technical Advisor team, to ensure adequate and timely support to their activities and that administrative processes are carried through to satisfactory completion. The Administrative Coordinator will ensure that all administrative processes are compliant with MSH and USAID procurement and administrative procedures and guidelines.
Assist with any procurement of goods and services ensuring compliance with MSH procurement policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in administration or project management, at least three (3) years’ experience in administrative support within a large international projects including experience in management of USG projects and understanding of Mozambique public health sector.
S/he should have strong administrative and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment.
In addition, s/he should be proficient in relevant computer applications which includes word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations (Microsoft Office applications preferred); and a willingness to learn new software packages.
The successful candidate needs to be a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. S/he should Fluent in Portuguese and strong ability to communicate in English including reading, writing and speaking skills.
