The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Financial Development Associate, SFS to support with the grant management and operations of the new Sustainable Food System Project. This position is based in Pemba – Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.
Reporting to the SFS Senior Project Manager, the Financial Development Associate manages the SFS project grant, identifying constraints, designing and facilitating financial solutions to help the grantees to keep the investment and the business on track, supporting the delivery of GAIN’s strategic plan for the SFS project to be implemented in Cabo Delgado which is aimed at improving the livelihoods of women and youth in Cabo Delgado.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable financial experience directly or indirectly related to impact investing, development finance and/or project implementation within the private or public sector in Mozambique.
You will have technical assistance experience working with SMEs to help scale up business plans and secure funds and will have experience using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance.
In addition to this, you will possess suitable qualification in finance, business management, economics, agricultural development or a relevant field.
You will have strong negotiation, communication and advocacy skills as well as strong team leadership abilities to motivate and mobilise team members.
The salary on offer for this role is starting from 21,584 USD per annum, depending on experience.
