CARE is hiring a Transform WASH Social Behavior Change Specialist.
Mozambique Transform WASH project is an anticipated 5-year project focusing on WASH governance, access to WASH services, behavior change (BC), and gender equality in small towns, rural growth centers, and peri-urban settlements, primarily in Cabo Delgado, Nampula, and Zambezia provinces. Transform WASH will strengthen WASH sector governance through participatory dialogue with Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) key stakeholders and will focus on capacity building to strengthen local systems and expand availability of water and sanitation services. The project aims to accelerate adoption of key WASH behaviors that not only lead to improved health outcomes, but also ensure that investments in physical infrastructure are used and maintained.
Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Party (COP), the Social Behavior Change (SBC) Specialist is responsible for leading the overall design and implementation of behavior change activities and interventions to accelerate uptake and maintenance of key hygiene behaviors among households and institutions. Behaviors may include, but are not limited to, treatment of household water, handwashing with soap, and menstrual hygiene management (MHM).
