CESC is hiring a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist.
Advancing Girls Education (AGE) is a program aimed at support the development of the Mozambican Education sector by implementing girl’s education activities focused on “increasing retention of girls (10-19) in school”. To achieve this goal, AGE will (1) improve access to school for girls and increase the community support towards girl’s education; (2) improve girls’ retention, and performance in upper primary and secondary schools; (3) increase girls’ access to key social services such as health, WASH; and (4) increase safety of girls at school and household by reducing their vulnerability to early marriage and pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV). AGE is a five-year program, in Nampula e Zambézia. The positions are pending the bid launched by USAID Mozambique.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Specialist: The MEL Officer will develop the MEL Plan and contribute to the effective implementation of the M&E policy, ensure that minimum M&E requirements for AGE Activities are met and participants are equally involved in the conduct of thematic and cross-cutting monitoring activities. The MEL Officer will ensure that M&E activities are designed and implemented to assess and address GBV in schools; increase access to family planning services to reduce the incidence of pregnancy and HIV among young girls and boys and increase access to improved sanitation services to improve the management of menstruation for girls and foster school retention. The MEL Officer will ensure that M&E activities are designed and implemented to assess projects’ relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of results; monitoring activities are carried out in a credible and systematic manner; lessons and recommendations are documented and used for improving projects’ implementation design and contribute to improving the priorities and result based outcomes. The MEL specialist must meet the following set of qualifications:
