CARE seeks a Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion Lead for an anticipated USAID Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA) in Mozambique. CARE, in consortium with partners, is designing a five-year project, scheduled to start early in calendar year 2022, to cover 4 target districts (Mocuba, Ile, Alto Molocue and Gurue) in Zambezia province. There is a possibility that the project may be extended for up to five additional years.
This project focuses on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) and improved nutrition for pregnant and lactating women. The program will also have a large food commodities component, using donated and imported food commodities from the United States to improve the nutritional status of beneficiaries while simultaneously working to increase the availability of high-nutrient local foods and improve livelihoods opportunities, particularly for young people and women.
CARE anticipates that this position will be based in Quelimane or Mocuba, but a final decision on the location of the position may be a point of negotiation with the selected candidate, and will depend on various factors including the candidate’s level of experience and expertise.
