We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party, Technical Lead for an upcoming USAID-funded opportunity in Mozambique entitled, Advancing Girls’ Education (AGE). This position will be based in Mozambique – in Maputo or field offices in the project’s target states – and is contingent upon award.
The anticipated Mozambique Advancing Girls’ Education (AGE) Program will increase the safety of girls in school through mobilizing communities to expand girls’ access to quality education and to improve learning outcomes for girls in upper primary and secondary grades. Specifically, the anticipated five-year activity will focus on increasing school safety, learning outcomes, and transition of girls in grades 7-12; improving girls’ sexual and reproductive education; and strengthening professional development for teachers.
The Deputy Chief of Party, Technical Lead (DCOP) is responsible for management of the technical activities and implementation of the project. S/he ensures that program components are results-oriented, ensures high quality deliverables, and relevant and timely reporting. The DCOP will have a major focus on achieving results in all areas and assuring that sub-grantees are poised to deliver services on schedule, ensuring synergies and cohesion between the various result areas. The DCOP shall participate and engage in technical meetings and maintain positive relationships with officials, partners, and implementing partners. The DCOP will, at times, act as the Chief of Party (COP) in the absence of the COP.
