Digital Graphic Designer Full-Time

The Communications Advisor Digital and Design will bring the project’s communications to life through the visualization of the project’s progress and activity, including through building the project’s website and online presence. This person will lead the conceptualization, design, development and production of a range of communications material and templates to form an integrated part of all aspects of the Mozambique LNG Project’s stakeholder engagement programme, particularly the community engagement programme.
Communications materials used as part of the Project’s communications programme to:

• Increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of the various aspects of the Project, including local content and development initiatives;
• Support dialogue by providing a means through which stakeholders can learn and be educated about the energy industry and the relevance of it to their lives;
• Build stakeholder capacity at different levels around different subjects of mutual relevance to Project and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• The key responsibilities of the Communications Advisor Digital and Design are to conceptualize, design, develop, produce and disseminate information and materials as part of the Mozambique LNG Project’s communications programme;
• This includes the following tasks and activities, on an ongoing basis:

• With other members of the communications team, regularly review and update the project’s internal and external websites, ensuring material is user-friendly and relevant;
• Analyze the key characteristics and information needs of the project’s business units and target audience(s), their interests and engagement and communication preferences, as well as the kinds of materials the audience will respond to;
• Conceptualize and propose communications resources for the Mozambique LNG Project, covering a variety of themes and topics: technical, non-technical and development focused, as identified on an ongoing basis in close consultation with the communications team and other business units;
• Develop layout, design and produce information, education and communication materials on various aspects of the Project;
• Test and validate materials with key identified staff as well as the target audience to verify relevance and appropriateness of concepts, content, approach and medium;
• Ensure all external communications are brand-consistent and in keeping with the organization’s visual identity.

Qualifications and other requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in visual studies or graphic design;
• 5 years minimum experience in designing and developing materials as relevant to what is described in the job description;
• Proficiency in the use of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) or alternatives (GIMP, Inkscape, CorelDraw, Serif Drawplus, Xara Xtreme, etc.);
• Submission of portfolio and samples of work required as part of application.
