HSE Advisor (Trainer) Full-Time

Our client, a leader in industrial and water storage, is seeking an HSE Advisor to join their team. The selected candidate will be in charge of directing efforts related to ensuring a safe work environment whilst liaising with the Project Management Team, Client HSE representatives, Warehouse Supervisor, Sub-contractors’ personnel and All project Superintendents.

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

• Conduct MDR CSS Training modules to all employees and other training certified and authorized to conduct;
• Record Administration and maintenance of training records (Cintellate and related recordkeeping tools/ database);
• Training Compliance updates and Site support;
• Training development and review;
• Authorized Trainer tracking and management;
• Provide HSE guidance and leadership to management team and team leaders with regards to MDR CSS HSE Training requirements;
• Assist with development and implementation of specific, measurable goals for training with defined timelines;
• Attend to administrative duties, safety and other meetings where requested;
• Specific responsibilities of the HSE Trainer include, but are not limited to directing efforts related to ensuring a safe work environment including:
• Ensure company HSE policies and procedures are implemented consistently and effectively;
• Develop training programs as required to support the training requirements of the project;
• Coordinate training programs to support the PMT Operations schedule;
• Assist HSE Manager with training needs assessment;
• Initiate monitor and report on the progress of training implementation and execution;
• Report periodic safety statistics in the required formats;
• Carry out an inspection / audit on the HSE Training Implementation (on site and remote);
• Develop, manage and present safety training programs. Review and recommend continued training and education of employees;
• Monitor environmental issues and advise management and field staff on environmental training that may be required;
• Have a sound knowledge of Statutory HSE Regulations, industry HSE standards and ensure their correct implementation;
• Demonstrate good planning and organization in day to day activities.

Duties

• Health, Safety of all personnel and protection of the Environment;
• Performance of the Training work scope within defined division parameters;
• Meeting or exceeding the Training targets set for the division and projects;
• Generating goodwill with the PMT, Fabrication Management and Client.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 -5 years in HSE in Construction / Oilfield safety;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Degree / Diploma in HSE related subject;
• Computer literate: Proficiency in MSOffice software packages;
• Prior experience/ exposure to Incident Investigation & Analysis software;
• Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and English/ Proficiency in English, Portuguese and Swahili (Advantage);
• Knowledge of Local Law and Regulations.
