Fisheries Agreements Execution Field Officer

Our client is looking for a Fisheries Agreement Execution Field Officer to be based in Afungi, Mozambique and is part of the resettlement team, reporting to the Compensation and Logistics Administrator for marine impacts. The position is responsible carrying out the task associated with executing about 4000 compensation agreements with fishers impacted as part of the implementation of the LNG project, namely verification of IDs, organizing witnesses, checking supporting documentation, physical signing of the agreements in the field and filing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in resettlement and/or compensation process;
2. Experience with community liaising / engagement and negotiations, preferably with fishing communities;
3. High level of accuracy and attention to details;
4. Strong organizational skills and experience with filing systems;
5. Command of local languages Emakhuwa, KiSwahili, Kimwani and KiMakonde is an advantage;
6. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Geography, Social Studies;
7. Nationality: Mozambican .

Responsibilities:

1. Print and verify all compensation and resettlement agreements before they are taken to field for execution;
2. Ensure all required paperwork for compensation agreement signing and compensation delivery is in place including IDs, bank accounts, etc.;
3. Coordinating with the other project teams and implementation partners regarding to logistical arrangements;
4. Explaining and clarifying the purpose and content of the compensation agreement to each individual fisher;
5. Verification of IDs, organizing witnesses, checking supporting documentation, physical signing of the agreements, proof of payments and in-kind delivery certificates;
6. Ensure documentation and record through photograph and videotaping of activities;
7. Maintains physical and electronic filing system.

Work Schedule: 28 continuous days on duty (12 working hours p/day) / 28 continuous days off duty (Rest & Recovery).
