Role Summary:
Dedicated to the execute mobilization of Subsea Equipment, tools & consumables by liaising with Custom Broker (Import/Export) & in-country Logistics Services Providers (in-country cargo movement/transfers) on behalf of BHGE to deliver to our Customers and Area of Operations for the Subsea Field Development Projects in Mozambique;
The SPS & Services Logistics Lead will be primarily responsible for the logistics, its administrative tasks related to Import/Export of Subsea equipment, tools & consumables to and from both worldwide and in-country locations;
The SPS & Services Logistics Lead will be an important interface between the Operations, Projects, and Customs Agent / Broker in Nacala and Pemba, ensuring the efficient handling of Import cargoes and the maintenance of accurate shipping records. The position demands that all Shipping operations are in accordance with the Local Government Standard Shipping Procedures and the BHGE Compliance Code. Liaise proactively with Customs Broker to identify and mitigate risks to the delivery of the equipment to our Customer & operations area. Attending meetings and conference calls related to the project cargoes status.
Essential responsibilities:
Mobilizing Equipment & Tools within Mozambique & follow incoming/outgoing goods procedures & updating record logs (shipment, inventory, etc.);
Lead heavy lifting plans & movement of heavy cargoes risk assessments;
Updating both Manual and Electronic Shipment Logs;
Updating Site & Offshore Campaign Manager & Project Manager of Import/Export status of equipment;
Obtain proof of deliveries of all the shipments and file in the online library;
Management of Inventory at our facilities/under our control;
Liaise with Custom Broker (Import/Export) & in-country Logistics Services Providers (in-country cargo movement/transfers) on behalf of GE O&G Mozambique Limitada, to deliver to our Customers and Area of Operations for the Subsea Field Development Projects in Mozambique;
Drive communication with Custom Broker (Import/Export) & in-country Logistics Services Providers (in-country cargo movement/transfers) to make sure our delivery dates are met as per our contractual agreements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong Subject Matter Expert in logistics;
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain/Logistics or Technical School with equivalent proven experience (+3 years) in executing Customs Clearance & in-country cargo transfers operations in Mozambique;
Experienced in transportation of heavy and large equipment/cargo – lifting operations & land transportation;
Knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with local Customs Import / Export Brokers and Logistics Services Providers;
Experienced & expert in Cabotage process for in-Country mobilization of equipment;
Expert in Inventory Management & general logistics operations (Air, Land & Sea).
Desired Characteristics:
Proficiency and ability to work with IT systems including but not limited to Oracle, Primavera, SAP, and Microsoft Office suite;
Able to operate quickly and efficiently to expedite time critical cargoes within Country;
Flexible to meet ever changing internal and external demands & changing Customer requirements;
Ability to coordinate and communicate both at the local departments level & global teams;
Strong sense of urgency in dealing with issues, tasks and driving them to closure.
