PATH is currently implementing, with the funds from Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Scaling-up Early Childhood Development (S-ECD) project in 8 districts of Maputo province. The project aims to integrate nutrition and Early Childhood Development (ECD) counseling for caregivers of children 0-3 in the clinical and waiting room services at health facilities, and in the home visits carried out by community health workers (CHWs).
The programmatic activities include supporting Health Facilities (HFs) and CHWs with skills and materials to verify developmental milestones, to counsel, individually and in group setting, on how to promote good nutrition and development of the child at home, to set up and run play-box activities in the waiting rooms, among others. The intern will assist the program team in supporting PATH’s Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) and supportive supervision activities.
The intern will learn how to develop and improve Information Educational and Communication (IEC) materials from the perspective of the user, and how to support providers particularly in terms of better counseling. The intern will also develop analytical skills with regard to Monitoring Evaluation data.
